One Stop Student Services at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applicants and nominations for the position of the One Stop Counselor. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to provide exceptional customer service and contribute in meaningful ways to the enrollment goals of the University. Duties/Responsibilities The One Stop Counselor position is a team member of One Stop Student Services on campus, providing a student-focused level of support in the areas of Undergraduate Admissions, University Registrar, Financial Aid and Scholarships, and the Bursar. This position is responsible for answering questions and facilitating transactions in all four areas. This position is the first line of contact for students, families, and the community, providing general information and inquiries, solving issues and referring complicated issues to the appropriate personnel in the offices that One Stop supports. This position is responsible for determining student fees based on eligibility and program status and has the authority to implement and review changes and make exceptions to students’ records. The position is responsible for timely follow ups with customers until the issue is resolved or escalated to the appropriate person. This position is also responsible for attending Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Bursar, and Registrar functions off campus and work weekends and evenings as required. Qualifications Required Qualifications The successful candidate must have: · A bachelor’s degree with at least one year of experience in customer service related field Preferred/Desired Qualifications The successful candidate should also have: · Experience with admissions, student financial aid, registration, student account receivable · Knowledge of and experience with the University of Tennessee or equivocal university · Excellent oral and written communications skills · Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds · Ability to work effectively as a team member · Ability to analyze and interpret data and make independent decisions · Ability to meet expectations in a fast paced customer-oriented environment Applications should include: (1) a letter of interest addressing the qualifications, (2) resume, and (3) the names and contact information (phone numbers and e-mail addresses) of 3 to 5 references.
