Description:
SUMMARY OF POSITION:  The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions must provide outstanding leadership and direction to the Office of Graduate Admission and to the Dean of Admission.  This individual will work with prospective graduate students and will report directly to the Dean of Admissions.  The Assistant Director will serve as a senior member of the admissions team and will be expected to take an active role in the decisions, activities and events that effect enrollment management at Converse. 

In addition, this team member will work in conjunction with the Dean of the School of Education and Graduate Studies, to assist graduate program directors in recruiting, marketing, and processing applications for the Graduate program at Converse. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Assistant Director will be responsible for recruiting graduate students to Converse College and will serve as the Supervisor for the Graduate Admission Data Specialist. The Assistant Director will work with the Dean of Admissions, the Dean of the School of Education and Graduate Studies, and the Faculty Program Directors to set goals, strategies and communication plans to recruit prospective students. 

Goals
	Achieve enrollment goals set by the Dean of Admissions
	Directly manage the recruitment efforts of graduate students
	Prepare and deliver reports to senior leadership team as required
	Assist in researching new markets for recruitment while maximizing the potential in assigned territory and/or maximize the internal resources to open new doors for recruitment

Leadership
	Serve as the direct supervisor for the Graduate Admissions Data Specialist
	Assist Dean of Admissions in setting weekly and monthly strategies and goals and assist in tracking the goals of the graduate admission process
	Assist faculty program directors and in developing, executing and evaluating strategies for their respective graduate program. 

Travel
	Attend graduate college fairs and complete an assessment report for each fair
	Schedule visits to events and speaking opportunities available for each respective graduate program
	Develop and foster relationships with businesses, school districts, or college programs relevant to the graduate programs
	Provide weekly reports to the Dean of Admissions for all activities
	Provide assessment reports on all off-campus events in assigned territory and directly manage the travel for graduate programs

Visitor management 
	Be available for and regularly schedule private visits with prospective graduate students
	Schedule meetings for prospective students with graduate faculty program directors as needed
	Plan and execute designated open house/interview sessions for graduate programs

Communication
	Make personal contact with prospective students through mail, email, and telephone
	Build relationships with faculty program directors and with prospective graduate students
	Facilitate contact between prospective students and faculty
	Build and Maintain relationships with other key offices: Registrar, Student Billing, Financial Planning, etc. to assist prospective graduate students through the admissions process
	Assist in developing the overall communication funnel to prospect graduate students 
	Work with the Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing and the Communications Department to develop and execute social media strategies and advertising campaigns
	Develop and execute an annual territory communication flow targeted to gatekeepers, prospective students and community partners
	Review college website monthly to insure content is accurate
Financial Planning 
•	Working alongside Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing and Director of Financial Planning to create and maintain an informative Financial Planning communication flow
•	Follow up with phone calls to offer additional counseling to prospective students to develop financial literacy

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:  The Assistant Director must have a Bachelor’s degree-Master’s preferred, at least three years of experience in the field of college enrollment and/or admissions or related field and direct management, and must be a self-starter, a creative thinker and a proven problem solver. Must be willing to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
