SUMMARY OF POSITION:  The Assistant Director of Admissions must provide outstanding leadership and direction to the Office of Admission and to the Dean.  This individual will assume the role of working as second in command within the admission team and will report directly to the Dean of Admissions.  The Assistant Director will serve as a senior member of the team and will be expected to take an active role in the decisions, activities and events that effect enrollment management at Converse. 

In addition, this position will serve on a leadership team for Leadership Converse. The responsibilities include overseeing the direction of the conference, budget, curriculum, marketing, speakers and volunteers. All members of the Admissions team will serve as members on the planning and execution of the program for Leadership Converse.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Assistant Director will be responsible for an assigned recruitment territory. The Assistant Director will serve as the Supervisor for Student Counselors, working to continually train these frontline students to help assist the Office of Admission. The Assistant Director will work with the Dean of Admissions and other Assistant Directors to set goals, strategies and communication plan to recruit students. 

	Achieve enrollment goals set by the Dean of Admission
	Directly manage the recruitment efforts of transfer students, internationals and student athletes 
	Prepare and deliver reports to the Dean of Admission as required
	Assist in researching new markets for recruitment while maximizing the potential in assigned territory and/or maximize the internal resources to open new doors for recruitment
	Serve as the direct supervisor for Admissions Counselors, Student Counselors and School of the Arts & PVA Scholarship Coordinator
	Assist Dean in setting weekly and monthly strategies and goals and assist in tracking the goals of the Admissions Recruiters
	Train and assess deliverables for each counselor
	Assist Counselors in developing, executing  and evaluating strategies for their assigned territories
	Attend college fairs and complete a report for each fair
	Schedule private visits and complete a report for each private visit
	Attend alumnae events in recruitment region and seeks ways to utilize alumnae in assigned territory
	Develop and foster relationships with gatekeepers at targeted colleges and schools
	Provide weekly reports to Dean of Admissions 
	Provide assessment reports on all off-campus events in assigned territory and directly manage the travel for all territory recruiters
Visitor management 
	Attend all campus preview days/admissions events
	Make presentations to and tour families who visit the campus as needed
	Plan and execute designated sessions at on-campus events as needed
	Meet event and visit goals for all on-campus events for assigned territory and set and track visit goals for all territory recruiters
	Coordinate with athletic staff to insure visit goals/expectations are met for student athletes 
	Make personal contact with prospective students and parents through mail, email, and telephone
	Provide extensive tele-counseling at night during designated time of the year
	Build relationships with guidance counselors and alumnae in the designated recruitment area
	Facilitate contact between prospective students and faculty/staff/current students/alumnae
	Assist in developing the overall communication funnel to prospect students and parents
	Work with the Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing to develop and execute social media strategies
	Develop and execute an annual territory communication flow targeted to gatekeepers, prospective students and parents
Financial Planning 
•	Working alongside Assistant Director of Enrollment Marketing and Director of Financial Planning to create and maintain an informative Financial Planning communication flow
•	Follow up with depth sounding phone calls to offer additional counseling to students and families during the critical Financial Planning spring season 
•	Schedule and attend one-on-one Financial Planning meetings with families to answer questions regarding the FAFSA, Financial Planning and Loans

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:  The Assistant Director must have a Bachelor’s degree-Master’s Preferred, at least three years of experience in the field of college recruiting or related field and direct management, and must be a self-starter, a creative thinker and a proven problem solver. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as required.
