Description:
Primary Function:
Assists the University Registrar in all aspects of his or her work, but especially in the areas of catalog, curriculum, and scheduling.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
1.	Provides a broad and variable range of management for the Office of the University Registrar, including training of other staff members.
2.	Collaborates with and advises the University Registrar in establishing short- and long-term plans; evaluating the effectiveness of the office; ensuring accurate and timely information on curriculum, policies, and procedures; creates an environment responsive to the needs of the office’s various constituents and committed to the development and success of students across the University.
3.	Collaborates with curriculum committees, deans, department chairs, faculty, and other members of the staff to develop and implement procedures and systems for curriculum management and academic publications that support the academic programs of the University.  
4.	Serves as the University’s primary subject matter expert for the Courseleaf catalog (CAT) and curriculum management (CIM) modules, managing their implementation and deployment, documenting their use, and training end users.
5.	Ensures accurate and timely transmission of data from the curriculum management system to the Banner student information system and the DegreeWorks degree audit system.
6.	Serves as the office’s primary liaison with Leepfrog Technologies.
7.	Edits, maintains, and monitors the University’s catalogs as well as other office publications, including developing content for and maintaining website for the Office of the University Registrar.
8.	Prepares and publishes the schedule of classes and assigns instructional space for all academic offerings in the College of Arts and Sciences collaborating with department and program chairs to ensure adequate offerings.
9.	Prepares and publishes examination schedules for the College of Arts and Sciences.
10.	Maintains an inventory of classrooms, including instructional technology equipment and furnishings.
11.	Gathers, maintains, interprets, and reports statistics as needed for reports related to the University’s curriculum and course offerings.
12.	Interprets, implements, and promulgates a wide array of academic and administrative policies, ensuring that policies and regulations are administered with equity and intelligence. Advises the University Registrar on revising existing or establishing new policies.
13.	Manages implementations of new processes and technological solutions.
14.	Serves as a functional resource for Ellucian Banner Student, DegreeWorks, Leepfrog, and other systems.
15.	Serves as a liaison with the University’s information technology professionals.
16.	Serves as a resource for and provides training to users of student information systems, imaging systems, and querying and reporting utilities.

Job Specifications/Position Qualifications (minimum):

Education:	
Appointment as Assistant University Registrar requires a bachelor’s degree in higher education, information systems, educational research, social sciences, or a liberal arts field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Appointment as Associate University Registrar requires a master’s degree in higher education, information systems, educational research, social sciences, or a liberal arts field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

Experience:	
Appointment as Assistant University Registrar requires three to five years’ relevant work experience managing catalog, curriculum, and/or class scheduling; experience working with collegiate faculty and administrators is highly desirable; preferred experiences include using content management systems and familiarity with student information systems.
Appointment as Associate University Registrar requires a minimum of five years’ relevant work experience in a collegiate-level registrar’s office, managing catalog, curriculum, and/or class scheduling; experience working with collegiate faculty and administrators is highly desirable; preferred experiences include using content management systems and familiarity with student information systems.
