The Office of the University Registrar at West Virginia University is seeking applicants for an Associate Registrar for Technology. This position leads the Office's development and usage of new and existing technologies that enhance access to student information. This position will report to the University Registrar and will serve as her ombudsperson in all matters of technology and systems development and serve as a member of the Registrar's Senior Leadership Team. In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will: • Participate in the planning, designing and implementation of innovative technical solutions to further the service mission of the Office of the University Registrar. • Streamline processes and improve delivery of services by providing a cooperative, service-supported approach to the University community. • Trouble-shoot issues for functional users both within and outside the Office of the University Registrar in Banner, Degree Works, and other applications related to unit functions. • Continually assess the unit’s business practices as they relate to the use of the Banner Student System and other applications. • Develop processes to ensure the security and accuracy of the student database and that the fullest functionality of the Banner Student System is being utilized and investigate options for new technology to be purchased and implemented that will improve services to the University Community. • Supervise and coordinate the work of the Office's technology unit to include providing leadership, helping to determine work priorities, and ensuring that quality standards are met. • Oversee reporting functions on student data related to the Registrar’s Office. • Manage the technology operations of three campuses and provide assistance pertaining to the facilitation of technology and processes. • Serve as technology project manager for all new initiatives requiring coordination within the Office. • Serve as a liaison to Information Technology Services and project managers in the implementation of new initiatives. • Participate and collaborate with the Academic Standards Data Integrity Committee. • Provide support to the Office of Institutional Research in regards to the preparation and submission of the state’s Higher Education Policy Commission reports. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, communications, liberal arts or related field is required; Master’s degree is strongly preferred • Five (5) years of experience in a registrar's office or other area related to the delivery of student services • Three (3) years of the following is required: • Direct supervisory experience • Utilizing and leveraging the Ellucian Banner student information system successfully • Strong technical and analytical skills • Ability to mentor and develop functional users across campus in the application of new technologies • Familiarity with report writing and query capabilities using SQL • Experience with Envisions Argos and Banner Workflow strongly preferred Requirements • Background check • Resume • Cover letter About WVU At West Virginia University, we pride ourselves on a tireless endeavor for achievement.
