The Academic Administration and Accreditation Manager (AAAM) is a professional, non-faculty position who plays a crucial role as coordinator of activities related to Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation. The AAAM also works with UAMS program assessment and reporting, completes tasks related to academic affairs policies, and serves as IRPA office manager. The AAAM interacts with all levels of internal staff and faculty as part of accreditation, reporting, and policy duties. Frequency varies based on the time of the year with increased interactions the year prior to HLC comprehensive evaluations and several times a month for policy. Responsibilities Accreditation: • Becoming knowledgeable about the HLC accreditation process and accreditation criteria. • Maintaining a library of up to date HLC resource documents and guidance. • Serving as the primary UAMS resource contact for the HLC online assurance system. • Working with team members/stakeholders to generate UAMS’ Master Accreditation Document in the HLC system, and identify or create appropriate documents that serve to support arguments put forward. • Organizing committees and working groups to address the five HLC criteria for accreditation; serving as staff to those committees. • Generating project timelines and milestones; monitoring and reporting on progress over the course of the project. • Preparing materials and communications to various campus and external audiences about the goals and processes of HLC accreditation. • Managing and updating the UAMS HLC website. Program Assessment and Reporting: • Documenting education program requirements from the federal, state, and various accrediting agencies and assisting in measuring/monitoring progress in meeting those requirements. • Working with IRPA staff to generate reports and metrics needed for internal and external constituencies. • Creating and maintaining a library/database of information on UAMS academic programs and degree plans and sub-plans. • Managing college and program accreditation tracking system. • Updating Academic Affairs website with program level accreditation information. • Managing internal report requests processing. Academic Policy: • Serving as Secretary of the Academic Policy Committee. Committee minutes and handouts will be created by the AAAM. • Updating the Compliance 360 system with new and updated policies. • Tracking when academic affairs policies are up for biennial review. IRPA Office Manager: • Completing purchases and managing department inventory. • Processing travel. • Managing and updating Academic Affairs and IRPA SharePoint sites. May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, education, communication, law, business, life sciences or related field of study PLUS five (5) years of administrative experience. • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Preferred Qualifications: • Experience managing academic programs or program accreditation • Experience working in higher education UAMS is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer of individuals with disabilities and protected veterans and is committed to excellence.
