The Division of Enrollment Management (EM) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UT) invites applications and nominations for Assistant Director of Enrollment Management Communications. The EM division comprises more than 150 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, One Stop, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, and EM Communications. We are looking for a passionate communicator with a love of organization and project management. This position requires creativity, forward thinking, and collaboration among the team and across campus. You’ll help establish the fun and creative working environment of the EM Communications Office. Duties/Responsibilities: Plays a critical role on this team, providing project management and oversight to meet the needs of the EM Division. In conjunction with the Director, plans, coordinates, and executes integrated marketing and communication plans, providing graphic design, layout, and production assistance. Organize, manage, and prioritize workflows from creative development to product delivery, enforcing a rigorous approval process to maintain university branding standards and quality control. Manage the day‐to‐day operations and personnel. Recruit, train, direct, and supervise unit staff. Make recommendations to Director regarding changes or enhancement of services and policy revisions. Serve on committees to represent the unit and/or fill in for Director as needed. Build positive relationships with division staff, campus partners, students, and faculty; serve as a liaison to the campus Communications and Marketing office; manage relationship with vendors. Develop communication plans in conjunction with the Director for EM Communications and other members of the leadership team. Coordinate the implementation and oversee execution of comprehensive communications plan. Write copy, oversee design and content for: print, video, and electronic communications. Qualifications Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related area • Three years of professional experience related to duties and responsibilities • Experience in a supervisory role • Excellent copy writing skills for various communication media, print, and electronic • Ability to create multi-faceted, marketing communication plans • Sound knowledge of and experience with marketing metrics, research, and campaign analysis, for print and electronic platforms (web, email, social media) – Google Analytics, Omniture or similar, CRM system • Knowledge of social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat • Sound knowledge of marketing and communication principles • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; marketing/creative project management experience • Knowledge and driven mindset and an eye for creative/visual content • Demonstrated ability to successfully implement marketing plans/drive execution and deadlines across multi-departmental teams • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree • Ability to work with Adobe Suite and WordPress • Ability and knowledge of higher education workflow • Knowledge and understanding of one or more production disciplines: print, digital, and broadcast (multi-media) • Sound knowledge of and experience with Slate CRM system Applicants should submit a cover letter detailing relevant experience along with a resume and the name, address, and telephone number of three references.
