This position requires an individual who can exercise sound judgment, think strategically and work collaboratively with faculty, students, staff, alumni and families. The Senior Associate Registrar shares leadership responsibility for the Office of the Registrar with the Registrar and other members of the leadership team; and has responsibility for the supervision and management of staff; oversees routine daily operations of the Registrar’s Office; develops procedures, manages a complex events calendar, resolves short-term issues, and promotes long-term initiatives. Maintains professional visibility on-campus. Serves on university and system wide committees and taskforces as assigned. Participates in annual professional conferences (e.g. CACRAO, SACRAO, AACRAO.) Standards of Professionalism: 1) Team and Interpersonal Skills: Success in this position requires positive relationships with other team members including support staff, and more senior staff & administrators. 2) Service Orientation: Success in this position requires a service-oriented perspective in which, to the greatest extent possible, student and faculty are treated in such a way as to feel valued and well served in their contacts with the school through you. 3) Confidentiality and Discretion: Success in this position requires the ability not only to maintain the confidentiality of prospective student and faculty records but also the ability to discern when it is appropriate to divulge privileged, if not necessarily confidential information. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/Competencies: The ability to manage detailed automated student records; ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of subordinate employees; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university staff, faculty, students and the general public; ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing, applying and interpreting policies and procedures; ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing; ability to negotiate problems with sensitivity and concern for the student and university; ability to plan training for WCU community on policies & procedures related the student information system and/or regulations governing student records. Must be a team player.

Masters Degree required.

Preference will be given to applicants with the following: five years of experience in similar fields as outlined above; significant experience as a supervisor; demonstrated experience in the use of automated office systems; and five or more years of broad-based experience within a Registrar’s Office or Enrollment Management or Academic Services unit in a higher education environment.
