Position: Records & Technical Applications Specialist Location: Office of the Registrar Reports To: Associate Registrar SUMMARY: The Records & Technical Applications Specialist is the primary point of contact in collaborating with Deans, Chairs and Directors concerning the course schedule. This position is responsible for building the course schedule in Banner each term, as well as making room assignments. The Records & Technical Applications Specialist scribes degree requirements in DegreeWorks, making any necessary updates in DegreeWorks per new catalog requirements. Tracks all independent studies and internships in Hirezon and then builds the approved courses in Banner. Enters transfer credit approved in TES into Banner. Responsible for assisting in the retention and scanning of all permanent student records. Serves on the IT / Registrar DegreeWorks committee. Assists in student registration. Enters/verifies change of address information in Banner. Assists in front office operations. The Office of the Registrar seeks a Records & Technical Applications Specialist who is customer service oriented, and who has at least three years of experience in higher education, particularly in a technical position. Familiarity with applications such as Banner, DegreeWorks, and TES is highly preferred. This person must be highly professional in appearance and demeanor, and must be well versed in Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Excel, Word and Outlook. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Degree Works o Point of contact person for Degree Works and updates all Degree Works requirements per new catalog o Liaison with ITS regarding upgrades to Degree Works and any testing related to such conversions o Reviews current Degree Works practices and recommends new procedures for new functionality o Serves on IT / Registrar Degree Works committee • TES o Reviews TES daily for new transfer equivalencies o Builds transfer equivalencies from TES into Banner • Banner Module o Updates and maintains Transfer Articulation Module o Assists with implementation of additional Banner modules and upgrades. o Maintains and enters all departmental recommendations for transfer equivalencies and approvals for course substitutions • Course Schedule o Collaborates with Deans, Chairs and Directors concerning course schedule o Builds course schedule in Banner and assigns classrooms each term • Registration o Creates all independent studies and internships o Assists in student registration • Scanning o Responsible for assisting in retention and scanning of all permanent student records o Scanning all student records, including documents retrieved from the library archives. • Assists in front office operations JOB QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree and computer programming experience preferred • Three years of higher education experience, preferably in technical applications such as Banner, DegreeWorks, and TES or a Bachelor Degree and other relevant experience • Unfailing ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA • Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff • Customer service oriented and very professional in appearance and demeanor • Excellent written and oral communications skills WORKING CONDITIONS • Full time: 8:00-4:30 full year, Monday through Friday • Some nights and weekends required TO APPLY For consideration, apply at https://www.cbu.edu/human-resources with salary requirements.
